More than 35 years in the United States. First as a journalist, working in television, radio, and print. Later as a licensed real estate broker in Florida, where I built and ran my own brokerage. I raised my children there. Miami became home as much as Spain ever was.

Then I came back to Spain, and got the surprise of my life. I thought I was coming home to something familiar. Instead I realized just how American I'd become.
